Project Overview
March 03, 2026
Date :
Heavy Metallurgical & Smelting Complex
Client :
Freight Logistics & Multimodal Transport
Category :
Chandrapur–Nagpur Mineral Belt, Maharashtra
Location :
Freight Logistics
We conducted a full supply chain diagnostic across the plant's 60,000 MT/month limestone and dolomite inward corridors, examining truck turnaround logs, weighbridge dwell times, siding demurrage invoices, and moisture assays during heavy precipitation.
Engineered Solutions & Execution
Covered Dome Buffer Yards
Constructed two 60-day covered buffer stockyards equipped with automated radial stackers near a key railway junction, keeping raw material moisture under 0.5% throughout monsoon storms.
Unit Rake Line-Haul Coordination
Shifted long-distance haulage from ad-hoc trucks to dedicated full-rake unit trains (3,800 MT per BoxN rake), utilizing mechanized bottom-discharge systems to unload trains under 4 hours.
Automated E-Transit Permitting
Integrated siding weighbridges with the state mining portal (Maha-Khanij) via direct API. Weighbridge tare-to-gross scans automatically generated RFID-linked digital e-transit passes, bypassing border inspection queues.

Driving Value Beyond Completion
Our dedicated logistics desk manages daily rake scheduling, siding operations, and live GPS tracking for secondary road transfers. Ongoing API updates ensure uninterrupted synchronisation with state mining databases for tax, royalty, and transit compliance.
The smelting complex now operates with a protected 60-day buffer supply, zero transit shrinkage, and structurally lower freight costs. This operational transformation shows how mechanised handling combined with automated compliance stabilises high-volume industrial processing.
