Project Overview

Date :
Regional Infrastructure & RMC Concessionaire
Client :
Mine Operations & Aggregate Production
Category :
Thane District, Maharashtra
Location :
Basalt Quarry
We began with a comprehensive site assessment across the 15-hectare open-cast concession, interviewing drilling contractors, blaster teams, and analyzing crusher operating logs, output reports, and bench space utilization. This diagnostic phase was crucial in understanding the root operational fractures and engineering realistic, cost-effective improvements.
Engineered Solutions & Execution
Engineered Benching & Fragmentation
Redesigned blasting geometry with 8-metre bench heights and a 12-degree burden inclination. Recalculated powder factors to cap rock fragmentation strictly under 600 mm, eliminating impact shock fatigue on the primary jaw die.
Pithead MRO Service Level Agreement
Stationed a dedicated maintenance crew on-site with containerised toolrooms stocked with 18% manganese jaw dies, polyurethane screen decks, and specialized lubricants under an enforceable 90% availability SLA.
Controlled Drainage Engineering
Regraded primary haul routes to a maximum 8% gradient and integrated lined runoff channels. This infrastructure eliminated waterlogging and allowed continuous pit dewatering and transport during heavy monsoon cycles.

Driving Value Beyond Completion
We view every project not just as a task, but as an ongoing partnership. Our support didn't end after deployment—ongoing pit face checks, monthly liner wear laser assays, preventive maintenance audits, and continuous crew coaching are part of our post-project service. This ensures lasting value and sustained alignment with changing bench geology.
Our client now enjoys smoother operations, better aggregate margins, and a competitive edge in supplying regional expressways and ready-mix concrete plants. This success story stands as a strong example of how modern mining practices, combined with pithead technical expertise, unlock real operational transformation.
